Computer Science Minor Overview

<p>Computer science is a rapidly-growing STEM field of study. The USI computer science program offers a minor that would be a great complement to a mathematics, engineering or computer information systems major. USI’s program follows the ACM recommendations for computer science undergraduate education and provides you with instruction that builds technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, team-building skills and communications skills. CS class sizes average around 25 students per section, which gives you the opportunity to receive personal attention.</p> <p>Obtaining a minor in computer science is highly-desired by employers seeking employees with software development skills. A CS graduate has opportunities in many different areas of technology. Graduates are very successful receiving employment in many of the top local companies, such as One Main Financial, Mead Johnson, Shoe Carnival, Berry Plastics, Vectren, Old National Bank, etc.</p>
