Creative Writing Minor Overview

The minor in creative writing at USI allows you to supplement your chosen major with focused coursework in writing poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and playwriting. The creative writing faculty members are award-winning published writers committed to teaching undergraduate writing. You’ll have opportunities to take part in and contribute to the literary community at USI; creative writing students are encouraged to join the Student Writers Union and work on editing and publishing FishHook (a student literary magazine).

The English Department also houses the Southern Indiana Review (a national bi-annual literary journal) and sponsors the Southern Indiana Reading Series, which brings to campus 2-3 nationally recognized writers each semester. Learn more about our Literary Editing & Publishing Minor here.
