USI Theatre closes 2023-24 season with The Wolves


The University of Southern Indiana Theatre Department is proud to present its last production of the 2023-24 season, The Wolves, written by Sarah DeLappe and directed by Eric Altheide, Professor of Theatre. Performances will run from Thursday, April 18 through Sunday, April 21 in the USI Performance Center. Shows begin at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. for the Saturday and Sunday matinee.    

From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, The Wolves follows a girls indoor soccer team as they navigate big life questions and wage tiny battles with all the vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. This production is a portrait of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.  

Student cast members include Morgan Ray, LillyBea Ireland, Via Ryan, Brynne Stephens, Madalyn Cottrell, Ashlyn Thornburgh, Jillian Palomino, Jade Griffy, Jaden Crouch and Rayn Miller. Alice Shen, Professor of English, also joins the cast as one of the player’s parents.  

Altheide is joined by Blair McKown, Student Assistant Director; Gavin Carter, Student Lighting Designer; Joshua Stallings, Sound Designer; Mel Hanebutt, Student Assistant Sound Designer; Paul Weimer, Scenic Designer; Shan Jensen, Costume Designer; Andy Hammond, Technical Director; and Adam Funkhouser, Box Office Operations Manager. The show will also feature Brecken Maddox, Student Stage Manager; Leo Rasche, Student Assistant Stage Manager; and Morgan Stauter, Student Assistant Stage Manager.  

USI Theatre will be using reserved seating, and ticket buyers can choose their own seats when purchasing online on the USI Theatre website or by calling the box office at 812-465-7110. Tickets are $2 for USI students; $12 for USI employees and alumni; $4 for non-USI students (student ID required); $12 for seniors (60+) and $15 for adults. Tickets are free to USI students with ID one hour before each performance begins based on availability. 

Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Presale patrons who reserve online will be able to choose their seats. Walk up patrons will be given the best seats available at time of purchase. Physical tickets are required for entry. Tickets reserved online may be picked up at Will Call on the day of the performance.
