USI Theatre announces 2024-25 season

University of Southern Indiana Theatre is proud to announce its 2024-25 season. Following the success of the previous season which included sell out performances of Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy and Ride the Cyclone, USI Theatre plans to captivate and entertain patrons with an exciting six-show season. This season will feature three main stage productions and three student-directed plays.

Main stage performances will take place in the 278-seat Performance Center. Located across from the Screaming Eagles Arena, this facility has been the main stage home of USI Theatre since 2015. The facility allows for state-of-the-art training for student performers and technicians and a beautiful, intimate venue for audience members to watch productions.

All student-directed shows will be performed in the Mallette Studio Theatre, which is located on the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on campus. This intimate theatre gives students the chance to produce, design and stage theatrical works in a setting with limited faculty involvement and allows them to explore new topics and gain valuable skills that will translate into their field of choice.

Below is the lineup for the 2024-25 season:

  • Vanities by Jack Heifner, running September 26-28 in the Mallette Studio Theatre. Directed by senior theatre major Madalyn Cottrell.
  • Eurydice by Sarah Ruhlin, running October 17-20 in the USI Performance Center. Directed by Joshua Robinson, Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, and featuring professional actor Jon Froehlich as The Father.
  • As You Like It by William Shakespeare, running November 21-24 in the USI Performance Center. Directed by Christia Ward, Adjunct Instructor of Voice and Diction at USI.
  • 35mm: A Musical Exhibition by Ryan Scott Oliver, running February 6-8 in the Mallette Studio Theatre. Directed by junior theatre major Rayn Miller.
  • The Taming by Lauren Gunderson, running February 20-22 in the Mallette Studio Theatre. Directed by Senior theatre major Chloe Kummer.
  • Pippin: The Musical, running April 10-13 in the USI Performance Center. Directed by Joshua Robinson, Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre. Pippin is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

USI Theatre will be using reserved seating, and ticket buyers can choose their seats when purchasing online  or by calling the Box Office at 812-465-7110. Tickets are $2 for USI students, $10 for USI employees, $4 for non-USI students (student ID required), $10 for seniors (60+) and $12 for adults. Tickets are free to USI students with ID one hour before each performance begins based on availability. Mallette Studio Theatre shows are $5 for general admission.
