Colloquium Abstract Guidelines

Students and alumni interested in presenting their work at the upcoming Graduate Student Colloquium are encouraged to submit an abstract prior to the submission deadline. All abstracts will be reviewed as submitted. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should include the following information:

  • Title of Presentation
  • Name(s) of presenter(s)
  • Statement of intent/purpose
  • Brief description of the evidence used in the research or project
  • Brief description of examples used in the presentation
  • Summary of conclusions

 

Please also provide the following information:

Duration of presentation (e.g. 20 Minutes):

Modality (in-person, synchronous remote, or pre-recorded):

*Abstracts will be made available online prior to the Colloquium and should be constructed in a way that makes it easy for a non-specialist audience to gain a quick understanding of the author’s research or project. In other words, please provide enough information so that someone who is being introduced to your topic for the first time can understand of what you will be covering.

**Citations of secondary literature and a bibliography are not necessary for the abstract.
