Headshots

Portraits taken by our staff are loaded into a database folder which goes into your Department page, the USI Directory, Faculty and Staff Headshot Database, and your Outlook email. You will find the studio located in the Publishing Services Center https://www.usi.edu/map#PublishingServicesCenter

Here are some suggested tips on what to wear and how to prepare for your portrait looking at these links:

Portraits for faculty and staff are provided free of charge. Student headshots will be charged to a corresponding account number. 

To schedule your appointment, please submit the Headshot/Portrait Scheduling Form.

When To Schedule for a New Headshot

Following are the acceptable and preferred methods for the database photographs: 

  1. A photograph taken by Photography and Multimedia within the past five years.
  2. Portraits older than five years will be scheduled and retaken by Photography and Multimedia.
  3. For individuals who cannot come to campus, a placeholder will be used indicating that no photograph is available.

Opting Out

Individuals who do not want an image to appear on the USI website or in publications must complete an opt-out form. (use your USI credentials to log in)

How Long Does It Take?

If you are a new employee, give the University a few weeks for your information to process through Human Resources and Information Technology. By your first month of employment, your photos should appear on your departmental web page and in your Outlook email.

Downloading Your Portrait

Once your portrait has been taken, it can be found online in the Faculty and Staff Database. There are two sizes, the "web" images is to be used for web or power point ONLY. The "print" version is a 4x6 size that can be used in publications. 

Follow the steps below to access and download your photo:

  • Search the database by first or last name
  • Choose "Print" or "Web" as needed.
  • Right click the image to save it to your desktop
