Risk Management

The mission of the Risk Management office is to protect the university's assets (financial, physical, and human), minimize legal liabilities, promote safety and accident prevention, and support the University’s compliance with laws and regulations. Strong partnerships and collaboration within and outside the University of Southern Indiana community are central to the success of this mission.

Risk Management works to balance protecting the University’s assets, maximizing the activity's benefits, and fulfilling the University’s mission. By establishing policies and procedures, Risk Management manages risk and mitigates losses.

Risk Management provides consultative services to faculty, staff, and students in areas that present risks to individuals and the University.

Examples of Risk Analysis

  • Evaluating contracts and waivers
  • Insurance requirements for the University and vendors
  • Reviewing outreach activities of an academic department
  • Reviewing campus activities, including summer camp

If your department is hosting an event, has documents to be reviewed, or has a safety concern, then contact Risk Management at 812-465-7003 or by email.
