Domestic Field Trips

Risk Management

For field trips and travel within the United States, the University of Southern Indiana provides excess accidental medical insurance (excess of students' health insurance) for official, organized, and supervised field trips. There is no deductible, and the policy pays up to a $25,000 limit for covered medical expenses (such as your deductible and co-payments).

Please review the Student Domestic Travel Policy and fill out the necessary forms before traveling.

If you had an accident while on your field trip that resulted in injuries and medical bills, then first turn in the bills to your health insurance. Once you have received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer showing the additional amount you owe, please contact Risk Management at (812) 465-7003 for a Field Trip Claim Form.

Contact Travel Procurement for additional questions on traveling for USI.
