USI Mountain Bike Trails

The University will soon be home to over 3 miles of dedicated mountain bike trails, including a 2.75-mile Campus Loop Trail, and a .05-mile Broadway Connector Trail, A one-acre Campus Flow Trail was completed in 2023. 

The Campus Flow Trails include three downhill runs complete with dirt jumps and bermed corners. The trails are rated for beginner, intermediate and expert level riders. The trails were funded through a grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation. 

The new single-track loop will be built on more than 30- acres of wooded area adjacent to the campus apartments with a trailhead off Clark Lane and will connect to other trails on campus, including the paved USI-Burdette Trail. The Campus Loop Trail is funded through a donor matched grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) facilitated by Trailheads – Southwest Indiana. All of the trails are being constructed by local trail builders Trelcru Inc. and include trailhead kiosks and wayfinding signage.
