Hanka featured in local news and appointed to committees

Dr. Matt Hanka, Professor of Political Science, was interviewed twice for the Evansville Courier and Press on July 11 and September 6 regarding local and national politics.  

Hanka also had several radio and TV appearances and lectures over the past year.  

• January 25, 2024: Two Main Street interview about his new book titled What is Happening in Your Community? Why Community development Matters 

• May 7, 2024: Indiana primaries segment on 14news 

• April 24, 2024: Shively and Shoulders: Indiana Primaries  

• August 15, 2024: Shively & Shoulders: Democratic National Convention 

• May 16, 2024: Lecture at Jefferson County Public Law Library in Louisville, Kentucky 

• October 23, 2024: USI Center for Communal Studies lecture  

• January 16: Shively & Shoulders: Political Transitions

Lastly, in late December, Mayor Stephanie Terry appointed Hanka to a two-year term on the Evansville Vanderburgh County Human Relations Commission. On Monday, January 13, the Evansville City Council reappointed him to another four-year term on the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee (AHFAC). At the February 11 meeting of the AHFAC, Hanka was elected chair of the committee for 2025.
