Dr. Beth Young, Assistant Professor and Chair of Food and Nutrition, has been named Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was recognized and presented with the award during the organization’s annual meeting on April 11.
Young earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dietetics from Ball State University and a Doctor of Educational Leadership degree from USI in 2022.
She began her journey with USI as an adjunct instructor in 2007 and has been a full-time faculty member for the past 13 years. Along with other faculty and students, she coordinates adaptive cooking classes for individuals with Down syndrome. As a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), she provides education and nutrition counseling for USI student athletes.
