Emergency Housing Assistance

YWCA (812) 422-1191 Our Emergency Housing Program offers many of the services available to our domestic violence clients to women and their children who are homeless.

Aurora (812) 428-3246 **Call this number to set up an appointment for a student seeking emergency housing in a homeless shelter. They will meet with the student for an assessment, then place them in a shelter with available space in the area. Aurora staff provides phone-based information and referral options to numerous individuals daily. We also compile listings on various topics such as rental units, employment, medical care, financial assistance, shelters, hot meals, and other resources. Our office is also able to make food referrals through the Food Pantry Consortium and to other independent pantries as needed. Local phone access and resource lists are available to anyone.

Albion Fellows Bacon Center (812) 422-9372 For over 35 years, Albion Fellows Bacon Center has been strategically working toward preventing domestic and sexual violence in our community and offering services to empower victims. Our services assess barriers to safety and self-sufficiency as well as the emotional and psychological needs of victims. Our programs use the Trauma Informed Care framework, focusing on the overall well-being of each individual. Includes emergency housing assistance for women and children.
