Getting to New Harmony

Nestled along the Wabash River in southwestern Indiana, New Harmony is easier to reach than you might think! Once you arrive, everything in New Harmony is within comfortable walking distance.

Don't forget that New Harmony operates on Central Time (one hour behind Eastern), so plan accordingly when scheduling your visit. 

Via Car

From major cities, simply follow I-64 to Exit 4 (New Harmony/Poseyville). Then take Highway 69 south for just 12 miles through Indiana farmland until you see our distinctive welcome sign guiding you into town. 

GPS users should navigate to 401 Arthur Street, New Harmony, IN, which brings you directly to the Atheneum Visitor Center where your experience begins with free parking near the building. 

Via Motor Coach

For motor coach groups, we provide detailed directions to designated drop-off areas with turning space. Our staff can coordinate arrival times to ensure smooth group experiences. 

Via Plane

The closest airport is Evansville Regional Airport located in Evansville, IN. Driving from the airport on I-64 West, you should expect to arrive in New Harmony in 45 minutes.
