USI's Institutional Equity Office (IEO) supervises student leaders to facilitate a peer-to-peer experience on topics that promote USI's mission of providing a dynamic, intellectual, and inclusive community. The office strives to maintain an environment that respects differences and fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion for everyone. These student leaders complete facilitator training under IEO staff supervision and design and execute trainings around campus for a variety of student populations.
Overview:
USI's Institutional Equity Office is offering a unique opportunity for any undergraduate or graduate students to positively influence the campus climate and culture. This peer-to-peer group, known as the Peer Equity Ambassadors, will design and facilitate workshops under the guidance of IEO staff. These educational opportunities will foster a culture of equity, diversity and inclusiveness as well as the prevention of all forms of discrimination and harassment, including Title IX harassment and hazing.
As a bonus, students will develop a toolkit of transferable skills, including writing, public speaking, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, that will help set them apart in the job market. This is a great opportunity for those interested in learning new skills while serving the USI community.
