Housing and Residence Life employs over 80 students in various jobs throughout the year.
Student staff are expected to maintain a 2.3 (undergrad)/3.5 (grad) GPA for the semester and cumulative throughout their employment in HRL.
A desk assistant (DA) duties include sorting mail, logging packages, and handling lockouts. In addition, the student desk assistant will answer inquiries from students, parents, and staff via phone and in person. Also, the desk assistant will assist with other clerical duties as assigned.
Compensation: $7.50 per hour with 8-20 hours per week (fall/spring) and up to 28 hours per week in the summer
Compensation: $8 per hour and 20 hours per week (fall/spring); tuition waiver of 9 credit hours each semester
Programming assistants work with the assistant director of Resident Engagement to coordinate and implement events and activities for residents.
Compensation: $7.50 per hour with 10-15 hours per week (fall/spring)
Resident assistants (RAs) are student staff who live in housing facilities and have primary responsibility of working directly with students in housing. RAs help facilitate the social, educational, intellectual, and cultural opportunities and activities for residents, and provide assistance and support for personal, facility and other issues to residents living on campus.
Compensation: Private bedroom/bathroom and a meal plan (fall/spring); $7.50 per hour for special projects (fall/spring)
A summer services assistant (SSA) works with summer camps and conferences as well as students who live on campus during the summer. SSAs work the desk at the Community Center and HRL office and serve in an on-call rotation.
Compensation: $7.50 per hour and a private bedroom during employment as an SSA; 20 hours each week with up to 28 hours during peak weeks
