AI Advisory Committee is a subcommittee of the Data Governance Strategic Team

Charge

To execute the strategic direction set by the Data Governance Strategic Team (DGST) and act as an approval body for generative artificial intelligence (AI) projects and initiatives with broad impact or usage. Set responsible generative AI principles and assess their implementation within the university. Serve as a resource to educate the university community on best practices and responsible use of generative AI tools.  

Goals 

  1. To establish responsible and ethical generative AI principles and guidelines. 

  2. To develop and recommend policy, processes, practices, and standards to mitigate known and emergent AI risks, protecting sensitive or protected data, and promoting responsible and ethical generative AI principles. 

  3. To be a resource for the university community as generative AI tools, projects, and initiatives are developed and implemented.
