Lactation Room

Guidelines

The Lactation Room is located in room 132B in the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center. This is on the first floor, next to the restrooms that are across from the Religious Life office. Any USI student or employee may access the room.

Upon accessing the room, lock the deadbolt. When the room is occupied the lock will read “In Use.” When available the lock will read “Vacant.”

All lactation room users are expected to clean up after each use. This is not only out of respect for other users, but to prevent contamination and illness transmission. Each user should allow enough time within a visit to clean the pump equipment of breast milk spills and dispose of trash properly. Antibacterial wipes and paper towels are provided for cleaning.

You must provide your own breast milk storage. Breast milk and personal belongings should not be left in the room.

This space is to be used only for activities associated with breastfeeding or expressing milk. Please limit time in the room to 45 minutes or less.

The room is available on a first come, first served basis.
