Looking for a guest presentation for your class or student organization this semester? Consider a presentation related to wellness! Presentations are typically 30 minutes, but the length can be adjusted depending on the needs of your group.

Available presentations include:

  • Be Well to Do Well: Wellness is a multidimensional concept that includes physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial self-care. This presentation discusses the dimensions of wellness, the importance of self-care for stress management, and introduces students to the wide range of wellness resources available to them at USI.
  • Improve your snooze: Sufficient sleep is necessary for students to retain what they learn in class and is essential for staying both physically and emotionally healthy. This presentation introduces students to basic practices to improve sleep quality using a brief self- assessment tool and an interactive Kahoot quiz with prizes.
  • Community Wellness: Be an Active Bystander: We all play a role in creating a safe and caring campus community. Being an active bystander means taking action when we see/hear something concerning. This presentation discusses the steps to being an active bystander, identifying and overcoming the common challenges to intervening, intervention styles and campus resources.
  • Choices about Alcohol: Although alcohol can be a common part of the college social scene, most students who choose to drink do so responsibly, and many choose not to drink at all. This presentation discusses the difference between lower risk drinking and high-risk drinking, strategies for reducing risk, preventing alcohol poisoning, and helping friends have a safer night if they make the choice to drink.
