The Evansville Astronomical Society's (EAS)
The EAS is the not affiliated with USI, but is the local amateur astronomer's club. They meet at, and maintain, the observatory in Lynnville Park (see directions above). Their meetings are open to the public and are scheduled for the third Friday of each month, 7:30 pm (rain or shine).
The Soho Orbiting Solar Observatory
A satellite in permanent orbit around the sun, taking pictures at a variety of wavelengths and collecting information on the solar wind. You can make movies of the sun's rotation here.
