Financing & Enhancing Your College Career

The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education has more than 118 scholarships and awards that are bestowed every year. The College strives to offer students the best educational experience while helping students find resources to finance their college career. The wide range of scholarships available goes to represent students from all the disciplines within the college as well as the diversity of student backgrounds. Along with these traditional scholarships, there are various grants and awards available to help students fund research and creative projects. The College aims to enable the enrichment of the students’ experience by helping make exceptional experiences such as these financially possible. From scholarships to grants and research awards, you'll find plenty of resources to help you meet your goals.

Along with financial funding, the College prides itself in having its own distinguished awards to recognize students and faculty who have made significant impacts on our college campus community. These awards are displayed outside the Dean’s office in the Education building for all to see. In doing this, the College hopes to foster a sense of community pride for the achievements of its students and faculty.

Scholarship Opportunities

USI and Pott College offer millions of dollars in scholarships to both incoming freshmen and returning students.

Barnett Research Award

This award supports undergraduate research in collaboration with a sponsoring faculty member in the Pott College.

Teaching Eagles Scholarship Program

The Teaching Eagles Scholarship Program aims to increase the number of content-rich, classroom ready science and mathematics teacher candidates graduating from USI by offering scholarship benefits to qualifying students.

Endeavor! Research Award

The Endeavor! Research Award supports creative and research efforts of USI students to students of any major. Funds can be used for research or travel to conferences.

Provost Grants

The USI Provost's office provides funding for Student Organizations as well as individual undergraduate students who are making a presentation or competing in an academic conference.

Student Excellence Awards

The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education takes pride in recognizing our students that show excellence in service to our university and college community. We encourage our students to nominate their fellow students who have made significant contributions!

Nominations are due February 13, 2026 at 4:30 pm via the forms linked below.

Student Leadership Award

This award highlights an outstanding student leader that provides vision and direction to a Pott College organization or club. This award recognizes an undergraduate student who best exemplify the spirit of the Pott College in social, recreational, residential, and service activities that promote the welfare of the University and its extended communities.

Student Dedication Award

This award highlights a student that goes above and beyond in their dedication to the Pott College, through recruitment activities, volunteer efforts, and engagement. This award recognizes an undergraduate student who enriches and improves the lives of Pott College students, faculty, support staff, and administrators.

Student Organization Award

This award is presented to a student organization in the Pott College that has demonstrated excellence in the areas of community engagement, collaboration, diversity and inclusion, and/or leadership development. This organization is one that makes a substantial impact on its members and to the USI community.
