Annual Events

Día de Los Muertos Celebration

Celebrate Día de Los Muertos with the USI community. Enjoy treats, crafts, music, dancing, and a candle procession to honor the deceased.

Interdisciplinary Colloquium

The Annual Colloquium features presentations exploring different concepts of the chosen theme. This event highlights the work of faculty and student scholars from various disciplines.

Film Festivals

Films will be shown in Forum I in the Wright Administration Building. A brief introduction will precede each film, and a discussion will follow. All films include English subtitles.

Global Salon Series

Holiday Sing-Along

Listen to language studying students sing popular holiday songs in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish at the Liberal Arts Center Labyrinth. Don't forget the hot cocoa!

Teaching Journey

Come Together with Our Community of Language Educators! Breakfast and lunch will be provided in addition to presentations, roundtables, networking opportunities, and open discussions.

Multilingual Poetry Readings

Join us for poetry readings in the original French, German, Japanese, and Spanish languages accompanied by English translations.

World Languages and Cultures Academic Bowl

Each year, the Department of World Languages and Cultures hosts an Academic Bowl for local high schools. Students participate in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish competitions.
