Teaching Languages

The World Languages and Cultures offers teaching majors in French, German and Spanish.

Which program should I choose?
Secondary Education: Language Teaching Major

A bachelor's degree in language teaching prepares students for careers in P-12 (pre-kindergarten through grade 12) and should be completed with the secondary education licensure minorAdditional admission requirements through the Teacher Education Department may apply. Prospective students should also review the College of Liberal Art's teacher licensing policy

Elementary, Early Childhood and Special Education

Students planning to teach languages in elementary schools (pre-kindergarten through grade six) should complete a language minor. Teacher licensure should be completed through a major in early childhood education, elementary education or special education, offered through the Teacher Education Department.
