Maximilian-Bodmer Exhibition

Lichtenberger Building

520 Main Street

Built: 1845, 1904
Original Use: Commercial storefront
Architecture: Three-story Romanesque Revival brick building

This commercial building was home to the W.E. Lichtenberger store. Historic New Harmony, Inc. purchased the building in 1974 with restoration work following over a number of years. Today, the first floor contains the Maximilian-Bodmer exhibition. 

Access: Interior accessible during guided tours only, including the New Harmony History Tour.
