The University mileage rate is $0.49 per mile (use Google Maps to help with mileage estimates).

Personal Vehicle Use

Mileage vs Vehicle Rental

If you decide to drive your personal vehicle for approved USI business travel, then please be aware of the following:

  • Liability is the responsibility of the driver when a personal vehicle is used. View the Section VIII, Use of a Personal Vehicle on USI Business, of the Vehicle Safety Policy.
  • Mileage paid may be limited to the cost of reasonable airfare, if applicable.
  • Mileage paid will be limited to the distance from the traveler’s primary place of employment or the traveler’s home, whichever is less.
