We are so excited that Teepa Snow and the Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) Team are coming to the Tri-State area April 12-13 for A Positive Approach to Dementia: Getting Connected and Supporting Our Neighbors rural roadshow. Join Teepa and the PAC Team to learn how to decode the changes seen in dementia along with learning to optimize positive interactions and practice techniques to change any judgements we may have into true communication moments.

Each Rural Roadshow session lasts two hours. There are three sessions for which participants may register:

  • Wednesday, April 12, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. ET at the Green Activities Center at Vincennes University.
  • Wednesday, April 12, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. ET in Petersburg at the Petersburg Community Center.
  • Thursday, April 13, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. CT at the Trinity Methodist Church in Rockport.

By the end of each session, participants in rural communities, including those living with dementia, their family members and caregivers and healthcare professionals, may expect to be able describe the important role that words and actions play in the behavior and responses of people living with dementia, describe several of the critical factors for optimizing positive interactions with those living with dementia, demonstrate several techniques, both verbal and nonverbal, that aid in communication with those living with dementia, and demonstrate use of positive communication strategies in different interactions.
