Facilities

As part of $18.5 million phase of renovations to the Health Professions Center launched in 2023, a state-of-the-art radiology suite was constructed on the first floor to house four digital imaging rooms capable of producing X-rays and a spacious radiologic and imaging sciences classroom.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Simulator Lab

USI's full-sized Magnetic Resonance (MR) simulator allows students to practice positioning patients for MR examinations in a realistic environment. Using advanced simulation software, students can experience the full imaging process.

Computed Tomography Lab

The Computed Tomography (CT) lab features a fully functional 64-slice General Electric CT scanner, providing students with hands-on experience in a realistic clinical setting. Students practice positioning techniques and perform CT imaging on a cross-sectional imaging phantom.

Digital X-ray Labs

Students practice imaging techniques, perform radiographic examinations, and develop essential patient-care skills in four fully equipped digital diagnostic radiography rooms. This safe, hands-on environment helps students build confidence and competence as they prepare for clinical experiences.

Additional Equipment

The program also has two digital portables and a surgical C-arm that are available for student use in the radiology suite and in the Kinney College Clinical Simulation Center.

Radiology Classroom

USI’s radiology classroom accommodates up to 24 students and is designed for comfort and effective learning. The room features cushioned seating, large tables for student use, and a radiology-compatible television monitor that allows for clear viewing and discussion of medical images during instruction.
