All students selected for admission to the nursing program must also meet clinical agency requirements, be able to perform essential functions, be eligible for RN licensure and capable of fulfilling clinical practice requirements.
Upon admission to the Nursing program and prior to starting nursing courses, students must undergo a national criminal background check through the College’s approved service provider (DISA). Information regarding criminal offense or conviction gathered as a result of a background investigation may result in denial of admission, dismissal or other action as determined by the program or Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions. For more information, refer to the Kinney College Handbook.
Students admitted into the BSN program are required to purchase and complete all DISA requirements by the assigned due date. Students must submit and maintain all required documentation in DISA by the designated deadlines to remain eligible for clinical participation.
Missing or expired documentation may result in a Performance Improvement Plan, clinical delays or administrative withdrawal from the course. Please refer to the full DISA Policy on this handbook's Health Requirements page for detailed requirements.
