In Her Own Words:
I decided to pursue a career as a respiratory therapist after exploring various paths in the medical field. My passion for health professions and a deep desire to help people have always driven me, but I was not sure which direction to take at first. Among the options I considered, respiratory therapy stood out as the most fascinating. After being diagnosed with asthma, the choice felt even more personal and fitting. It gave me a unique perspective, allowing me to connect with patients and use my own experiences to help others breathe easier.
As we recognize Respiratory Care Week, I am reminded of the profound impact this profession has on lives, me included. It is a time to celebrate the vital work of respiratory therapists, raise awareness about lung health and inspire the next generation to join us in this rewarding field.
