Charles E. Day Learning Resource Center (LRC)
The Charles E. Day Learning Resource Center (LRC), located in a newly renovated space, is a designated student learning space for the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions. This resource area is in the lower level of the Health Professions Center, HP L070, just inside the Clinical Simulation Center.
The LRC has:
- Two individual computer workstations
- Two quiet rooms for study or taking exams
- Models
- Charts
- Specialized learning software
- Library of learning items
- Group workspace
Students are welcome to use the LRC for study, skills practice or testing, and they have access to a multitude of health-related resources. The most common services offered as part of the Learning Resource Center include:
- Peer-to-peer collaboration
- Quiet study space
- Interprofessional, open-access area for meeting and study
- Help Desk staffed by trained student workers
- Access, support and learning partner with the Clinical Simulation Center
- Evaluation space for didactic and clinical learning
Policies
- The Day LRC is for the use of University of Southern Indiana Nursing and Health Professions students and faculty.
- The Day LRC has been designed to promote a learning environment for individual and small group study. Students are asked to maintain an atmosphere conducive to study.
- Eating and drinking are not permitted in the Day LRC.
- Resource items and clinical skills equipment may not be removed from the Day LRC without the express permission of an LRC employee.
- Access to the Day LRC resources is available during the posted hours of operation.
